Based in Melbourne, Emily oversees a small team of experienced interior designers, enabling the studio to focus closely on a select number of projects across Australia and worldwide. Each project begins with a nuanced understanding of a home’s residents. Their unique stories inform our design choices alongside the home’s original architecture, context and history. From there, we redefine the interior sequence, tone and tactility through spatial exploration, honest materials and layered texture.
High craftsmanship in joinery, paired with curated antiques, one-offs and custom pieces by the studio, results in atmospheric, ease-filled spaces that are connected to their inhabitants and set to evolve with their lives.

Emily Gillis is an interior designer known for her timeless, considered living environments. Drawing on her international experience in Melbourne, Sydney and New York, and a Bachelor of Design from Monash University, she combines global perspective with local sensitivity. On returning to Melbourne, she established her own practice, leading projects that emphasise spatial flow and proportion, natural texture and refined craft, from bespoke joinery to curated antiques and custom fixtures. With warmth and discernment, she works closely with clients and makers to produce spaces that feel grounded from the outset and evolve gracefully over time.
