Fitzroy refines a 75 sqm apartment within the historic MacRobertson Chocolate Factory on Rose Street for a young family of three. The renovation reshapes the contained layout to prioritise warmth and comfort. Warm earth tones and tactile finishes sit naturally against the factory’s brickwork and steel-framed windows, softening its industrial character. Oak floors and light timber cabinetry add warmth, punctuated by the patina of aged brass tapware and textured tiles.
The living area provides both retreat and connection, complemented by a spacious bathroom reconfigured for ease. A generous kitchen, inspired by inviting hospitality spaces, features a stepped-height breakfast bar that anchors the home, doubles as a place to gather and dine, and lends the apartment a sense of loft-like openness beyond its footprint.
