Mathoura

Mathoura reinterprets a heritage apartment built in 1990 as a calm, timeless retreat for downsizing owners. Positioned above the established Toorak streetscape, the 150 sqm home frames serene views across rooftops with a courtyard paved in limestone and edged with English box, creating a private garden.

Careful spatial planning and cohesive tonality bring generosity to a compact footprint. In the reconfigured kitchen, bullnose marble benchtops balance minimalist fittings, and travertine floors and vanities, brushed nickel tapware, and honey-brown chevron parquetry timber create a tactile interior balanced between classical and contemporary influences. Travertine-lined bathrooms extend this warmth and refinement, evoking the luxury of a grand hotel. Custom nickel lighting, bronze hardware and feature pendants enrich the palette while accentuating the home’s old-world charm.
